Global Advanced Metals Names Jean-Paul Meutcheho as Director of Corporate Sustainability – Conflict Minerals
Thursday, May 16, 2013
Mr. Meutcheho has an extensive background in supply chain management, as well as more than ten years of experience in commodities management from the Ford Motor Company. During his time at Ford Motor Company, Mr. Meutcheho led corporate initiatives to develop a sustainable supply chain for conflict minerals and to comply with related U.S. legislation. He also served as the chairperson of the conflict minerals workgroup at the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG).
“Jean-Paul’s strong expertise and proven track record in sustainable supply chain management will be an important asset to GAM as we continue our work as a leader in the production of hyphenate conflict-free tantalum.” said Stephen Krause, President of Global Advanced Metals Technology Division. “This is a strategic hire that emphasizes our commitment to upholding the highest industry standards in responsible and sustainable sourcing and procurement.”
“GAM has a strong reputation as an industry leader in sustainable sourcing and I am pleased to be a part of a team that is deeply committed to corporate responsibility and upholding stringent industry standards,” said Mr. Meutcheho. “I look forward to playing an integral role as GAM continues to be at the forefront of these important industry issues.”
The United Nations and other government agencies and NGOs have drawn clear links between the illicit trade of conflict minerals and the ongoing conflict and extreme violence in the DRC. GAM exclusively sources “conflict free” tantalum raw material throughout the world for its smelting and processing operations.
